How much does Loom cost in 2026? The real math

Illustration comparing Loom per-user pricing with recorder-only pricing

Loom’s public monthly prices are $18 per user for Business and $24 per user for Business + AI. Starter is free, with 25 recordings and a five-minute limit. Annual billing saves up to about 17%, which makes the advertised equivalents roughly $15 and $20 per user per month, paid for the year.

The list price is only the beginning. Monthly subscriptions bill for the exact number of Loom users. Annual subscriptions use user tiers, so the total depends on the tier containing your user count. Workspace roles also matter: an ordinary person opening a shared video is not automatically a paid seat, but users added to a paid Loom workspace generally are after the Creator Lite migration.

Loom plans and current list prices

Plan Public price Recording limits Main reason to choose it
Starter $0 25 recordings; five minutes per recording; unlimited meeting-recording length Trying Loom or maintaining a small library
Business $18/user/month on monthly billing Unlimited videos and recording time Basic editing, branding removal, uploads/downloads, and viewer controls
Business + AI $24/user/month on monthly billing Business limits AI summaries, chapters, text-based editing, automated documents, and meeting notes
Enterprise Custom, annual Contract-specific SSO, SCIM, retention, advanced privacy, and SLA requirements

Starter now includes transcriptions in more than 50 languages. The paid AI tier adds summaries, chapters, generated documents and messages, filler-word removal, meeting recaps, and other automation. Saying “transcripts require Business + AI” is no longer accurate.

Atlassian advertises savings of up to 17% for annual billing. For a simple comparison, that corresponds to about $180 per Business user per year and $240 per Business + AI user per year. Use Loom’s live pricing calculator before approving a purchase because annual plans are billed by user tier, not necessarily by multiplying one seat price by the exact headcount.

What counts as a paid Loom user

The phrase “Loom charges for viewers” is too broad. A customer, colleague, or friend who receives an ordinary public or permitted share link can watch without becoming a paid workspace user. The cost issue appears when people are added to the workspace.

Historically, paid workspaces could include free Creator Lite members with Starter-level recording permissions. During Loom’s rolling integration into Atlassian billing, that role is being discontinued. Creator Lite members are converted to full paid Creators on the integration date, with a grace period until the next billing date for admins to remove users they do not want to pay for.

This creates three useful categories:

Person Usually billable? What to check
Anyone opening a normal share link No Video privacy may require sign-in, but watching alone is not a workspace seat
User added to a paid, Atlassian-integrated workspace Yes Confirm in Atlassian Administration
Creator Lite member in a legacy workspace Not yet, while the legacy role remains Review the integration date and upcoming conversion

On Starter, integrated workspaces can currently include up to ten free users. Legacy role documentation may show different limits while the migration is in progress, so the billing screen for your own organization is the source of truth.

Worked monthly and annual examples

These examples use the advertised monthly prices and annual equivalents. They exclude taxes, volume discounts, negotiated contracts, and any tier effect shown by the live calculator.

Paid users Business monthly Business annual estimate Business + AI monthly Business + AI annual estimate
1 $18/month about $180/year $24/month about $240/year
3 $54/month about $540/year $72/month about $720/year
10 $180/month about $1,800/year $240/month about $2,400/year

Now consider a 30-person company with five regular recorders. If all 30 people are paid workspace users, Business is $540 per month and Business + AI is $720 per month on monthly billing. If the organization can keep the workspace to the five people who actually create videos and share ordinary links with everyone else, those totals fall to $90 and $120.

The meaningful budgeting question is therefore not “How many employees might watch a Loom?” It is “How many people must be members of the Loom workspace, and which of them need to create or administer videos?”

Before comparing products, write down the roles your workflow actually needs. Count regular recorders, occasional recorders, workspace administrators, editors, and people who only watch a shared link. Then price the smallest defensible member group rather than copying your company headcount into a calculator. This exercise also exposes operational tradeoffs: limiting paid membership may save money, but somebody must manage ownership when a recorder leaves, respond to access requests, and keep important videos in the right workspace. A cheaper seat total is only useful if it still gives the team reliable access to its recording library.

Why your invoice may differ

Several details can move the number away from a simple multiplication:

  • Annual user tiers. Atlassian charges a flat annual price for the tier containing your user count. Crossing a tier boundary can change the total more than adding one exact seat.
  • Mid-cycle users. Monthly plans add prorated cost when users join during a billing cycle.
  • Creator Lite conversion. Users not removed during the migration grace period appear as paid members on the next invoice.
  • Legacy-price migration. Existing workspaces are moving to current list prices on the first billing date after integration; Atlassian says customers cannot remain on the old price.
  • Tax and currency. Sales tax and regional billing can change the checkout total.
  • Volume or enterprise terms. Monthly workspaces with at least 100 users may receive volume discounts, and Enterprise is negotiated.

For an integrated workspace, go to admin.atlassian.com/billing, select the billing account, and find Loom under Products. Before integration, Loom’s Admin tools → Billing page shows current pricing and the Creator Lite count.

Audit a Loom bill before renewal

Use this checklist at least a week before the billing date:

  1. Confirm whether the workspace is Atlassian-integrated. The “Your Profile is linked to Atlassian” message in Loom Personal Settings is a quick indicator.
  2. Export the last six months of user activity from Admin tools → Users → Download Data.
  3. Separate active recorders and essential admins from people who only need a share link.
  4. Remove unneeded workspace users before the Creator Lite grace period or renewal ends.
  5. Check the next annual tier boundary as well as the per-user equivalent.
  6. Decide whether Business + AI is needed for its automation or whether Starter transcriptions and Business features cover the workflow.
  7. Compare the upcoming invoice with Loom’s live calculator and keep a copy of the result.

A lower-cost recorder-only model

Chairkick takes a narrower billing approach: Pro is $9 per workspace recorder each month or $72 per recorder per year, while people using ordinary share links can watch, comment, and react without an account or paid seat. New workspaces receive a 14-day Pro trial with no card. That model helps when a small group records for a much larger audience; it does not replace the need to compare security, editing, integrations, and migration requirements.

Use the Loom pricing calculator with your real recorder and workspace counts. If the result favors moving, inventory and test your recordings before using the cancellation guide.
