About Chairkick
A screen recorder built out of frustration, run on its own product every day.
The short version
I'm Oliver Eidel. I run OpenRegulatory, a medical-device compliance company, and we communicate in screen recordings all day — support answers, bug reports, feature walkthroughs. For years that meant Loom.
Then Atlassian bought Loom, and the tool we depended on drifted: prices went up, the free tier we'd recommend to customers was discontinued, and for us it got slower and less reliable exactly when we used it most. We looked for an alternative we liked. We didn't find one. So in 2026 I built Chairkick — the simple, fast screen recorder we wanted: record in the browser, share a link, viewers never pay.
Chairkick is dogfooded relentlessly — OpenRegulatory runs its daily support and product communication on it, so when something is slow or awkward, I feel it before you do. It's a small, honest product from a real company (Newbury Ace LLC), not a growth experiment: the pricing on the pricing page is the whole business model.
What Chairkick believes
Viewers are always free.
You pay for the people who record — never for the people who watch. No seat audits, ever.
The browser is enough.
No desktop app, no extension required to record. If you have a browser tab, you have the recorder.
